Биотопливо: быть или не быть

Дизельное топливо и обычный бензин, продающиеся в Великобритании, будут содержать по меньшей мере 2,5% биотоплива. А к 2010 году эта цифра должна достигнуть 5%.

По рассчетам специалистов, четверть всех парниковых газов, выбрасываемых в атмосферу в Великобритании, приходится на транспортные средства. Как сообщает BBC, данные нововведения призваны снизить негативное воздействие транспорта на окружающую среду и не должны сказываться на работе автомобилей. Министр по транспортным вопросам Великобритании Джим Фитцпатрик считает, что с помощью этой программы возможно предотвратить выброс в атмосферу миллионов тонн углекислого газа.
